Firm founder, Richard Allen, is a respected estate planning and trust attorney having served the Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties since 1966.  Mr. Allen has always maintained an outstanding reputation among his peers in the legal profession and judiciary, as reflected in his highest rating (“AV”) in Martindale-Hubble’s attorney directory. He began as an associate of the Wyckoff, Parker, Boyle and Pope law firm, became a senior partner in the 1970’s, and became counsel to the law firm of Bachan, Skillicorn and Marinovich in 1996.  When the Bachan, Skillicorn and Marinovich law firm ceased operations in 2006, Dick formed Allen & Allen LLP with his son, Robert Allen to continue providing excellent legal services to Santa Cruz County, the Pajaro Valley and the Monterey Bay.  In 2011, Mr. Allen brought Devon Caroselli in to the firm, and now that he has retired, he has been happy to see Rob and Devon continue to carry on the same tradition of excellence.

Richard retired from the practice of law as of 2016, and now works full-time in his new career as a chauffeur and short order lunch cook for his grandchildren.
